Independence (he/him) is a multifaceted artist and photographer from Minneapolis, Minnesota. At a young age he assisted on a project featured in National Geographic, which prompted him to pursue art after high school.
As a child he discovered a love for skateboarding and snowboarding where he began to explore visual mediums. He is inspired by lived experience, and throughout his artwork has an instinctual desire to render control through chaos. As he creates a platform, he hopes to utilize his resources and artistic ability to facilitate positive change. Along with this, he hopes he can inspire others to do the same.
Attending The Minneapolis College of Art and Design, he graduated in spring 2023 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and a minor in printmaking. Post graduation, he worked as a photo assistant at Gaffer Photography. Here he became versed in shooting interiors and architecture as well as digital retouching.. The team's commitment to quality and client satisfaction was paramount. Communicating clearly, as well as harnessing technical skills in Capture One and Adobe Photoshop was crucial. Bringing a creative perspective and a penchant for collaborative success to every project, the experience garnered in this position act as building blocks for his career.
